A Message from Mrs. Gault-

Happy Fall Break, BMSS Families!
We hope you enjoy a wonderful fall break filled with time to relax, enjoy the beautiful fall weather, and make special memories with family and friends. Take some time to recharge, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on Wednesday!

Nine Weeks Down!
It is hard to believe we have already completed the first nine weeks of school! Report cards should be available in Skyward on Wednesday. Please take a few moments to review your child's grades and attendance as we begin the second nine weeks. If you would like to schedule a conference with any of your child's teachers, please reach out. We are happy to help coordinate a time for you to connect and discuss your child's progress.

A Fresh Start for the Second Nine Weeks -
As we return from break, we will be revisiting our expectations and encouraging every student to be their very best in all they do. This includes their behavior and effort in the classroom, on the playing surfaces, at athletic and extracurricular competitions, during passing periods, and in their interactions with peers and adults.

We want our students to understand that who they are and how they treat others matters. We will continue to emphasize respect, kindness, personal responsibility, and making positive choices. Middle school is such an important time in a young person's life, and we want to help our students develop the character and habits that will serve them well long after they leave BMSS.

Our goal is bigger than academic success. We are striving to help mold amazing humans who will make a positive impact on their peers, teachers, families, community, and the world. Every interaction is an opportunity to demonstrate kindness, show respect, and make a difference.

Thank you for partnering with us and for sharing your amazing children with us each day. We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of their lives, and we look forward to a great second nine weeks here at SOUTH!
Enjoy your fall break, stay safe, and we will see you Wednesday!

Have a wonderful break!

Oct 12th - Oct 16th

Students who get a lunch meal will receive a blank raffle ticket, one per student per day.  Students will need to write their own name on the ticket and return it to the cafeteria team.

Students can enter every day, so a student who eats lunch all three days has three chances to win. On the last day of National School Lunch Week, the cafeteria team will draw one ticket at random and announce the winner.

The winning student may choose up to 20 friends from their own lunch period to join their pizza party. Each student will receive a pizza meal.

CAFETERIA CONCERNS

Please remind your students that they DO NOT HAVE to buy other students food or snacks nor share food from their own lunch boxes. We have seen a lot of pressuring others and mooching from others. Tell your students that it is okay to say no - NO to buying things for others or giving them items from their own lunches! If they have an issue with being bothered or someone snatching something, alert an adult, and we will be happy to assist.

If you feel your student is running out of money quickly, this may be the cause. We are trying to shut down these behaviors at every opportunity that we have.

VANDALISM and other trends we are seeing

We are seeing an increase in vandalism, especially of restrooms; an example is soap dispensers being pulled off the walls and thrown away or into urinals. We are also seeing mechanical pencils being turned into water shooters, syringe-type creations where students are drawing water out of their water bottles and squirting water at others and across the classroom. This is an obvious distraction and safety concern. So please be on the lookout for mechanical pencils or anything being altered.

PLEASE remind your students that if they see something, they should say something. They can discreetly email an administrator, come talk to one of us, or they can fill out a P3. Please encourage them to report immediately- be specific with details: the location, the time frame, and the involved parties.

We appreciate all of the support and encouragement of our students to do the right thing, because it is the right thing - even if no one is looking.

Thriller in the Park Food Drive

Champion Football Field

October 27 - Gates Open at 6:30pm

Join Us for Thriller in the Park — A Spooktacular Night of Service!

Get ready for a frighteningly fun Boerne ISD tradition! BISD theatre programs invite the community to join us for the Sixth Annual Thriller in the Park, bringing hundreds of middle and high school students together for an unforgettable evening of music, dancing, costumes, and community service.

Students from across Boerne ISD will take the field in their best zombie attire to perform a massive, synchronized dance to Michael Jackson’s Thriller, along with additional musical performances showcasing the incredible talents of our BISD students.

Best of all, this night of entertainment has a purpose.

Admission is a donation of non-perishable food items, which will benefit Hill Country Family Services and help provide food for families right here in Kendall County. Guests are encouraged to bring generously and help us fill the shelves!

Thriller in the Park is a celebration of One Boerne and our Core Value of Commitment to Service. It’s a chance for students, families, staff, and community members to come together, have a little spooky fun, and use the arts to make a meaningful difference for our neighbors.

Over the years, Thriller in the Park has grown from a local performance into a beloved community tradition—one that reflects this year’s district theme, Rooted in Legacy, Reaching for the Stars. We’re proud to continue that legacy of creativity, service, and community spirit with another generation of BISD performers.

Bring your family. Bring your friends. Bring a bag of food—and come watch our students bring Thriller to life!

We can’t wait to see our Boerne community come together for a night of great performances, great fun, and an even greater cause.
